First hiyamugi of the year

This is the first meal I cooked after returning from a trip to Canada on Saturday. This was lunch on Sunday. We had to eat out on Sunday morning because we had no food in the house. Hiyamugi is my husband’s favorite kind ofย  noodle in the summer. I like to put the in or over salads.

In the mix:

  • mizuna
  • carrot
  • tomato
  • 2/3 of a serving of hiyamugi cooked and cooled

 

In the dressing:

  • soy sauce
  • cooking sake
  • salad oil
  • sugar
  • minced garlic
  • minced ginger

Topped with soy sauce flavored sesame seeds.
